The biggest lesson I've learned over the years regarding chargers is that you don't have to spend big bucks to get one capable of doing what you need. I've built battery packs for several years for applications other than automotive.generally very high draw, no charge applications.so I have become pretty familiar with chargers. That's a great thing to me.I pull into the garage, leave the passenger side windown cracked, pass the cord in through there, plug into the lighter.and voila! 2A trickle charger. All I do is plug mine into one of the cigarette lighter plugs, and it's off to the races! I don't even have to pop the hood. It only has to be connected to 1 battery since they are wired in parallel. I've had it about 4 years and it's works great. I have a Schumacher Fully Automatic Onboard Battery Charger/Maintainer. It will charge both of them at the same time and rate.

There has to be some company making a trickle charger for a double battery (24 volt hookup) that you can hookup and leave under the hood-that way you can simply plug the extension cord in.
